Sophia Pouya, B.S.

Research Technician

Sophia completed her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering at Cornell University. She spent two years at Lockheed Martin in roles spanning modeling and simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and guidance algorithm development. Last year, she transitioned into neuroscience research as a research assistant at UT Southwestern Medical Center. There, she supported studies on cognitive control and intracranial recordings in neurosurgical patients. Her current research interests include developing brain-in-the-loop systems that can predict behavioral states. She plans to apply to Ph.D. programs in the coming years to formalize this research. In her free time, Sophia enjoys working out, sewing, and running with her dog, Oppenheimer.
